The Medical Simulation Center of Vincent Pol University was opened on the 8th of November, 2021. It was co-financed by the Ministry of Health as a part of the project “Innovative Education for Nursing Students – Creation of a Single-profile Medical Simulation Center at Vincent Pol University in Lublin”.
The aim of the project was to improve the quality of education not only for nursing, but also other medical programmes taught at the university. As an element of the project, a development plan was prepared, the main aspect of which was the creation of the Center. VPU students can already use the new facilities and have access to state-of-the-art educational solutions offered. Classes taught using the medical simulation methods enable students to significantly increase their competences, which, in turn, enhances their professional opportunities.
Medical simulation is the best way to develop practical skills. Students are able to perform certain activities and procedures in standardized, controlled and recurrent conditions. They can also receive immediate feedback from experienced and well-qualified teachers. The abi lity to practice advanced scenarios in the first stage of education results in more fruitful participation in prac tical classes, which ultimately leads to greater safety of patients and higher quality of professional conduct.
